Attention all Crysis fans, put on your Nanosuit because the first-person shooter game is making a comeback. Crytek, the developer of Crysis, announced via Twitter that a remastered version of the game called Crysis Remastered Trilogy would be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC this Fall.
Crytek is working in collaboration with Saber Interactive to create a bundle in which gamers can purchase Crysis, Crysis 2 Remastered, and Crysis 3 Remastered. The developers have yet to state what enhancements come along with the two new versions of the game and how they will differ from their original releases, but fans are looking to Crysis Remastered on the Switch for some hints.
The Switch version of the game ran at 720p resolution at 30 frames per second. Considering some of the hardware limitations the Switch has compared to other consoles like the Xbox One, the game’s depth of field came out pretty impressive. It’s going to be interesting to see how the Crysis Remastered Trilogy will look on consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
For those unfamiliar with the popular Crysis series, you play as a soldier named Prophet who protects the world from alien invaders. Prophet, who is equipped with a Nanosuit that provides accelerated speed, strength, armor, and cloaking abilities, must adapt to an ever-changing environment to dominate his enemies. The first Crysis game was released in 2007 and was followed by three main series installments, a spin-off of the first game, and now a compilation.
There is no exact release date for the Crysis Remastered Trilogy at this time, but generations of gamers who have played the game series since the beginning are sure to be ecstatic about the game’s new enhanced visuals that are shown in the trailer. Gamers will also be glad to know that Crysis 2 Remastered and Crysis 3 Remastered can be purchased separately from the bundle.
