Probably the most anticipated returning character for Street Fighter 6’s Season 3 lineup, Crimson Viper’s gameplay trailer has dropped, and in the time since a few other things have accompanied her.

We see all of C. Viper’s iconic kit from Street Fighter 4 on display here: her superjump, her lazy elbow overhead, her burn kicks, a super jump, and of course her seismos. With the seismos come her infamous feints, allowing her to keep her opponent guessing simply by smacking her gloves together and doing nothing multiple times. Viper also has the honored distinction of carrying Street Fighter 4’s mechanics with her: as with her appearance in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Viper has brought Street Fighter 4’s Focus Attack mechanic with her. Separate from the already armored Drive Impact of Street Fighter 6, we actually see Viper’s Focus Attack eat Ed’s Drive Impact and beat it, so that’ll probably lead to some interesting interactions.

If you’re interested in more Viper gameplay than the snippets provided by her gameplay trailer, we’ve since received some CPU vs. CPU matches that explore a few more of her mechanics in depth.

We also got her theme. Viper’s 2P intro has her say, “Let’s rock!” and this theme certainly reflect that.

On top of that, we even have an excerpt from her move list.

Viper was famous in Street Fighter 4 for being one of the most execution heavy characters in the game. Street Fighter 6 is not a game that really has execution requirements, so many people were afraid that Viper would be dumbed down from her previous version especially since the previous DLC character Sagat lost most of what made him interesting (see also, Juri has become less execution heavy with each subsequent appearance) but it looks like Viper is going to retain a lot of what made her unique and fun in her last full-fledge Street Fighter appearance, and it’ll be fun to finally get a handle on her come her release on October 15th.
