Crashlands 2 has gotten its official announcement during today’s Guerrilla Collective Showcase 2023. The sequel to Crashlands from developer Butterscotch Shenanigans which released way back in 2016, featured a minute-long trailer set on the colorful world of Woanope. Featuring a brand new art style, the quirky world brings back protagonist Flux Dabes, a galactic truck driver who crashed on Woanope in the original Crashlands. The trailer showed some of the core survival gameplay from farming, base building, combat with strange space aliens, and befriending companions for useful tasks.
“Slap your way across a vibrant world where interstellar friendships are the key to your survival. Befriend eccentric aliens, craft bizarre weaponry, and stick it to the man in this sequel to the award-winning open-world crafting RPG Crashlands.”
On the official game’s website, some of the new action and adventure players will get into in Crashlands 2 was further detailed:
“Return to Woanope as Flux Dabes, intergalactic trucker and disgruntled corporate employee. After years away from the planet under a lucrative (if morally dubious) Spokesperson contract for the Bureau of Shipping, you return to visit some old pals and recover from corporate burnout. But before your vacation can even begin, a mysterious blast from the planet’s surface sends you crashing into a new land, far from friends and alone in an alien wilderness.”
“After a long day of exploring the wilderness, fighting Sluggabuns, and getting sneezed on by Trunkles, you’ll need a place for you and your alien pals to relax. Build a cozy home-away-from-home where you can retreat from the outside world to craft, chat, and farm — or tame that orphaned Sluggababby you adopted — in peace. Just don’t forget to make space for your newfound friends… and potential roommates.”
There’s not much more detail-wise given right now, though Crashlands 2 will be launching in 2024 on Steam, and iOS and Android exclusively through Netflix Games.
