Close To The Sun Shows Off New Gameplay In Trailer

The playfully named studio Storm in a Teacup has released a gameplay trailer to their upcoming horror survival game, Close To The Sun. Starting off on a mysterious radio message to any survivors in the area, the trailer teases the use of detective skills, high profile experiments, ghastly figures, and a struggle to escape death that surrounds the player. Exploring a mysterious ship will not be the only thing that will give players goosebumps. Check out the new gameplay trailer here:

Close To The Sun takes place towards the end of the 19th century on a ship that was created by Nikola Tesla. The ship was made for “the sake of knowledge,” but the cost will be revealed by players who play as Rose. Rose is a young journalist in a frantic search for her sister and she soon finds that something has gone terribly wrong. The story centers on an alternative version of history where “scientific breakthroughs have already had a major impact on the world.”

In terms of the actual gameplay, the horror experience will be played in first-person and will require Rose to solve problems through puzzles and her detective skills. However, she has no actual means to defend herself from the many dangers on the ship. She will have to run, hide, and think on her feet. There will also be a friendly individual that Rose can team up with who will help her find her way through the ship’s confusing and seemingly never-ending halls.

Wired Productions, the publisher for Close To The Sun, came forward several days ago to announce that just like many other games that are going to be released soon, their horror title will be exclusive on the Epic Games store and not the Steam Store. Their reasoning behind this decision is that it has given a great platform to independent developers as a “great distribution opportunit[y].”

Close To The Sun is coming sometime next month to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Epic Games store. Check out our previous discussion on other game developers’ decision to exclusively release with Epic Games.
