Rever Games and Radical Theory have announced Clockfall, a dark fantasy action-RPG roguelite, for PC via Steam Early Access later in 2026, with a full release planned for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027.
The story opens after the hordes of Destiny have already destroyed the player’s village. In its remains is a mystical clock, and through that clock the player is forced into replaying the massacres of the past in a loop. Each run carries a ticking timer that counts down as they explore, fight, or hesitate. When the clock hits zero, the loop begins again. The stated objective is to break the cycle and save their kin, though reaching that outcome demands outpacing the clock long enough to reach the exit. Between dungeon runs, players can return to their settlement for a “village defense phase” in an effort to change the past and save their kin. Resources, upgrades, and experience gathered during runs are redirected here to build defenses and hold off escalating enemy waves. Success in defense translates directly into permanent stats, weapons, spells, and bonuses that carry into future runs.
Combat is described as fast and visceral, blending melee weapons and magic. Progression revolves around choices of whether to spend gathered resources to extend the clock, invest those same resources into combat power, or forgo both and push deeper into the dungeon at risk. Each decision returns to the same constraint: the clock and how much of it remains.
The developers have stated their intention to remain in Early Access for a minimum of six months and up to twelve. Plans during that window include new dungeons, enemy types, weapons, spells, and objects, along with balance work on progression and combat. The Early Access period will gather community feedback for the game’s blend of dungeon crawling and village defense system.
Clockfall is available to wishlist now on Steam.
