CD Projekt Red Says There’s No Timeline As To When Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be Available To Purchase On The PlayStation Store

Last year, one of the most highly anticipated games, Cyberpunk 2077, was released. What was regarded as the game that was set to usher in next-gen did not go according to plan at all. There was a major backlash with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions being a large step down from the PC version riddled with bugs, glitches, and performance issues. It was so bad that many were demanding refunds and Sony did something that no one saw coming; they took Cyberpunk 2077 off of the PlayStation Store, not making it possible to download the game. Now, five months later from the game’s release, CD Projekt Red has provided an update regarding getting the game back on the PlayStation Store saying that they’re still waiting for Sony’s approval.

During the latest shareholder meeting, CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kicinski said, “Unfortunately, I have no new information in this regard. We are still in discussions and with every patch, the game gets better and there is visible progress, but as we said the decision is an exclusive decision of Sony, so we are waiting for the information about the fact that they took the decision to bring back this game. Until then, I am not able to tell you anything more.”

Ever since the game’s release and removal from the PlayStation Store, CD Projekt Red has released a number of patches, fixing lot of the issues that many had with the game. They also had to deal with a class-action lawsuit that was filed over the release of the game. Earlier this year, CD Projekt Red released new roadmap for the game revealing that the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S update will be coming later in the year. The developers also shared a new vision for the future as they plan to start parallel AAA development with The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 franchises next year.
