CD Projekt Red Postpones Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire Event To June 25

June is jam-packed with a lot of events due to the cancelation of E3 2020 because of COVID-19. This month, events happening include IGN’s Summer of Gaming, the PC Gaming Show, Guerilla Collective Festival, EA Play Live, Day of the Devs showcase #1, New Game+ Expo, Marvel’s Avengers War Table stream, and Night Wire City. CD Projekt Red’s livestream for Cyberpunk 2077 was set to take place on June 11, however, due to recent events involving the death of George Floyd, the developers have decided to move the event two weeks to June 25 because “more important discussions are happening right now and we want them to be heard.”

CD Projekt Red wasn’t the only one to support Black Lives Matter and postpone their events. EA Sports delayed Madden 21 celebration that was supposed to happen yesterday. Call of Duty‘s newest seasons for Warzone and Mobile have also been delayed. And, PlayStation announced that the PlayStation 5 Future of Gaming event scheduled for this Thursday has been postponed as well. These are not the only companies in the industry showing their support for Black Lives Matter. Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games, Riot Games, Bethesda, Bungie, Microsoft, Xbox, Ubisoft, Square Enix and more have relayed messages on Twitter.

Since Cyberpunk 2077‘s delay, CD Projekt Red has revealed new details about the game throughout the year leading up to the game’s launch. They revealed how side quests will work. CD Projekt Red also discussed their DLC plans and how they’re following what they did for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt which recently just marked 50 million copies sold. They revealed that an upgraded version of the game for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 won’t be available at launch. Recently, they shared the Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition Bundle featuring the last limited edition Xbox One X console, and more information was revealed following rating leak for the game. Cyberpunk 2077 releases on September 4, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
