We’re not too far away from the launch of the Resident Evil 3 remake, but it looks like Capcom has found a way to keep us satiated until then. Announced via twitter, the company has announced that a demo of the game is “on the way” and with a promise of more information soon. If it’s anything like the Resident Evil 2 demo, then get ready for an innovating and challenging experience.
While the announcement itself is a little vague, it’s safe to assume that we’re in for the demo fairly soon since the final product’s release date is less than a couple of months away. It’s uncertain if the demo will have just the single player aspect, or if it will include a multi-player component as well. However, what is more than likely going to happen is we’re going to see Nemesis, and run away as fast as we can.
If there is any indication on how the game will look and play, then look no further than last years extremely successful remake of Resident Evil 2. The game sold over 4 million units in just over month after it’s release, won Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards, and surpassed the original 1998 game’s sales numbers in just under year of being available. It was also had multiple nominations at The Game Awards 2020, but lost the Game of the Year awards to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
With all of these accomplishments, Resident Evil 3 has a tough act to follow. It’s apparent that Capcom is trying to continue the success of the Resident Evil Remake formula, and from what we’ve seen thus far, they’re going to keep this going. Needless to say, we’re excited for this demo and can’t wait to get our hands on it.
Resident Evil 3 launches on April 3 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
