Capcom Officially Announces Dragon’s Dogma 2 is in Development

Capcom officially held a 10th anniversary event for the original Dragon’s Dogma game that was released in 2012. At the event, Capcom confirmed that fans of the original game can officially expect sequel to be released sometime soon. In addition to the announcement at the event, Capcom also released a statement about the upcoming game on their website.

Based on the success of the original Dragon’s Dogma, this announcement is not too surprising. Many fans had expected this announcement due to the original 10th anniversary website released in May

Capcom did not offer much information to fans since the game is likely still in very early development. Despite receiving little information, Capcom did confirm that some of the team from the original Dragon’s Dogma will be returning for the sequel. Director Hideaki Itsuno will be returning to work on the game, as well as developers Daigo Ikeno and Kenichi Suzuki.

After being released for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in 2012, the original Dragon’s Dogma game was upgraded and released as Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. Dark Arisen included more content than the original and was released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. To celebrate the announcement of Dragon’s Dogma 2, Capcom has said that Dark Arisen will be on sale for each of those consoles, saying that it is “the perfect time to explore the world of Gransys and prepare yourself for what lies ahead.”

Although there is not much information about Dragon’s Dogma 2, Capcom will surely be doing all they can to make the development as quick and efficient as possible to bring a full experience to their fans.
