Capcom Announces Bundle of Remastered NES-Era Disney Games

Today (March 15), Yuri Araujo, a Capcom employee, posted on Capcom blog about The Disney Afternoon Collection. This is a collection of six remastered Disney games that originally appeared on the NES. The games in this collection will include Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2, Darkwing Duck, DuckTales, DuckTales 2 and TaleSpin. Each of these games have been remastered with 1080p graphics.

This collection will also contain a number of new features. Each game will have a Boss Rush mode, allowing players to battle all of the game’s bosses consecutively. Also added is Time Attack, which will have the player try to beat levels as fast as they can, then compare their times to others’ on an online leaderboard. There will also be a Rewind feature, which will allow players to rewind the game by holding down a button if they mess up. This is probably intended for kids or other people new to these games who aren’t used to the difficulty of many platforming games from the 80s and 90s. Rewind can not be used in Boss Rush or Time Attack modes. Lastly, there will be a Museum Mode, which will include “concept art, sketches, music, and other fun extras.”

The Disney Afternoon Collection is scheduled to come out on April 18 for $19.99 and will be available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Those attending WonderCon in Los Angeles, which is being held March 31 to April 2, can pick up the game early from Capcom booth #1137. The game’s announcement trailer is below.
