Ever since the launch of Season Two of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, there has been speculation that there was tease for the rumored battle royale mode coming to the game. Now, many details about the battle royale mode, called Warzone have been revealed after players glitched their way onto the map and in the menu of the mode. Details on Warzone’s mechanics have also leaked giving everyone a sneak peek at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s take on battle royale.
The map, which was leaked after Youtuber Ryan B managed to access the map in a private map was teased during the opening cinematic of Season Two when the camera pans back and up revealing several gunfights unfolding all over the place. Players who glitched through the menu found that there will be an option to take a training course to familiarize yourself with how the mode will work. Other features have also been revealed.
A earlier leak about the existence of Warzone revealed that the mode may support up to 200 players, a respawn mechanic, currency which can be earned by completing missions to purchase in-game items or XP. One of the more interesting things that the new leak has revealed is something called Drop Kits. Apparently players will be able to set up loadouts that you can use in Warzone. They can be called in by using a Drop Kit marker that is purchased with Plunder, the currency. Plunder also allows you to purchase things such as a Precision Airstrike, Cluster Strike, and a UAV and more. Players will be able to respawn in a match if they enter the Gulag where players will compete in a 1V1 match to reenter the Warzone.
While nothing has been officially confirmed, it seems like sometime during Season Two, players will be able to try out a new battle royale. But, as with most leaks, not everything revealed may turn out to be true so you should always take them with a grain of salt until something official gets announced or confirmed.
