Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta Details Released

Activision, via post on their official blog, has detailed what will be included in the upcoming beta version of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Late last month we wrote about the dates for the beta being announced for those who preordered Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. There are quite a few interesting changes to the multiplayer that will be on display in the beta.

To begin, the beta will introduce Combat Rigs into the multiplayer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Essentially these are suits that offer a customized collection of tactical options. The Rigs were designed around six popular playstyles and are interchangeable mid match. Every Rig will include one payload, an ability or weapon that can be activated during the match and boosts the player’s Rig when the player has earned it, and one trait, a continual passive ability that can offer the player strategic opportunities during combat. As players advance they can unlock three payloads and three traits per Combat Rig. It should be worth noting that since these unlock as the player progresses they might not all be available during the beta.

The following is a breakdown of the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Combat Rigs via Activison’s blog:

Warfighter

Designed for a mid-range assault-style player, equip the Warfighter rig to support the team by getting fast kills, quickly getting to an objective, and always being on the offensive.

    • Ping – Kills and assists send a ping that highlights nearby enemies.
    • Persistence – Scorestreak counts don’t reset after death, but cost more.

    • Reaper – Switches you into four-legged, rapid melee combat mode.
  • Traits
    • Combat Burst – After each kill, gain a boost of movement speed.
    • Propulsion – Jump pack that recharges quickly and allows you to damage enemies underneath you with the blast from the jump pack.
    • Rushdown – Allows you to dash in any horizontal direction.

Another interesting feature in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s multiplayer is the addition of Mission Teams. Each Mission Team has a commander and as players successfully complete these missions they rank up and as they do unlock a variety of different perks. There will also be three maps available in the beta, namely:  Frontier, Frost, and Throwback. There will also be a variety of fan favorite game modes available such as: Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed. There will also be an additional game mode called Defender, thrown into the fray. This game mode essentially works like a deadlier version of keep away. The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta will take place on October 14th for PS4 preorders and end Monday October 17th.  Those who ordered on Xbox One and PS4 can experience the beta from October 21st to Monday October 24th.
