Bungie Reveals The Next Chapter Of Destiny 2

After teases and leaks about what’s next for Destiny 2, Bungie revealed all yesterday with a live stream dedicated to the next chapter of Destiny 2. The stream covered the next expansion, new gameplay features, and a new version of Destiny 2 that’ll be available for free.

The first thing that was leaked earlier in the week was the next expansion for Destiny 2, Shadowkeep. Shadowkeep has the Guardians return to the Moon. Eris Morn has returned and unleashed something that once slumbered beneath the lunar surface – a long-dormant power even she cannot control. Some of the new gameplay features coming in Shadowkeep include finishing moves and changes to armor Bungie calls armor 2.0. Armor 2.0 will allow players to take any mods that they have unlocked and apply them to any piece of armor.

One of the biggest things to come out of the live stream is the reveal of a new entry point for newcomers of Destiny 2. Destiny 2: New Light is free to download experience that puts the worlds of Destiny 2 – and all of its foundational modes, activities, and rewards – into the hands of every player. Destiny 2 is also coming to Steam. Current PC players will be able to bring all of their progress and purchases with them. Alongside the leak of Shadowkeep, some other big Destiny 2 related news was leaked. Destiny 2 will be available on Stadia this fall. If you pre-order the Stadia Founder’s Edition, you can get the full Destiny 2 experience including Shadowkeep on Google’s gaming platform. The other thing that was leaked was the addition of cross save. With cross save, you’ll be able to access the same characters tied to one primary account, enabling you to have a unified experience with the same Guardians on different platforms. Cross-save, Shadowkeep, and New Light will be available this fall on September 17, 2019.
