Bungie Announces a Reveal Stream for Destiny 2: Warmind DLC

On April 24 (tomorrow), Bungie will be officially unveiling its upcoming Destiny 2 DLC, Warmind. It’s been a while since Destiny 2‘s first expansion, Curse of Osiris, was released in 2017; this next DLC release is set to coincide with ‘season 3’ of Bungie’s planned in-game content. In the meantime, a brief teaser for Warmind (and its upcoming reveal stream) provides a couple of details.

“Join developers from Bungie and Vicarious Visions for a look at a new destination to explore, a new cooperative endgame activity to master, and new ways to level up in the Crucible,” the teaser’s description reads. “The reveal of ‘Warmind,’ the second expansion to Destiny 2, begins on April 24 at 10AM Pacific.” The most notable detail concerning Warmind so far it its return to Mars, an area that hasn’t been seen since the original Destiny. The teaser also names a new location, Hellas Basin, which will be addressed further in the stream by Evan Nikolich of Bungie and Brent Gibson of Vicarious Visions. Other notable people you’ll see in the stream include Benjamin Wommack and Jacob Benton (discussing something called the “Hive Escalation Protocol”), plus Josh Hamrick, Jon Weisnewski, and Kevin Yanes, who will be covering Warmind‘s upgraded exotics and Crucible updates.

As Bungie mentioned with its season 3 roadmap, more than just Warmind is coming. “We are changing the way Crucible playlists work when Season 3 launches alongside the new expansion, Warmind. Beginning on May 8, all Destiny 2 players will be able to compete on any of the Crucible maps we put in our match-made playlists,” Bungie shared in recent update. “We believe this is a big win for everyone, since players will no longer need to choose between playing in a limited DLC playlist to see ‘the new stuff’ and playing in a mainstream playlist to get the largest pool of opponents and maps.”

Destiny 2 has undergone a good amount of controversy over the past months since its initial release and Curse of Osiris, but hopefully this next season of content will bring something new for players. You can check out Bungie’s Warmind stream tomorrow on the developer’s Twitch channel, and the DLC released in another couple of weeks on May 8.

I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
