Build a Bear Teases Collaboration with Animal Crossing

Recently Build a Bear has responded to a fan’s request for a collaboration with the widely popular Nintendo Switch Game Animal Crossing: New Horizons. At the same time as this response, petition has also started on Change.org to advocate for the fans that want to have their favorite villagers right next to them. While it’s most likely that not every character will get a plushie, it’s more possible that the most popular ones (or ones decided by a vote) will probably be made.

As of now, that response by Build a Bear has over ten thousand likes and the petition has over six thousand signatures (a little under its initial goal). Nintendo has also had collaborations with the big events of the time such as Pikachu and Eevee from Pokemon, Simba and Nala from The Lion King, and Toad, Bowser, and, Yoshi (along with costumes for regular bears) from Super Mario.

As exciting as the possibility of one might be, it should also be kept in mind that this is not yet an official confirmation of one coming in the future. But since the company recognizes and acknowledges what their fans want to see (and given the popularity of its other collaborations), there is a strong possibility of it happening.

Since it’s release in late March, Animal Crossing New Horizons has skyrocketed in popularity. Since stay at home orders had been placed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Animal Crossing indirectly caused a shortage of Nintendo Switches at one point, along with breaking new records. Recently the game has released new update that allows players to participate in “wedding season” duties helping Reese and Cyrus, along with many other bug fixes to give players a smooth and enjoyable experience.
