Earlier this morning, RedRuins Softworks and HypeTrain Digital dropped the Early Access Reveal Trailer for Breathedge 2, the second game in the Breathedge series. Alongside this trailer, the Breathedge team also made Breathedge (the original) free “on Steam” for “48 hours,” until “August 9 at 10:00 AM Pacific” according to the Steam news announcement. This surprise comes before the actual Early Access Release of Breathedge 2 on August 31st, so fans and those interested can take a look at Breathedge before its second comes out. Additionally, in the same steam message, the devs confirm that everything is going well leading up to the Early Access release, and that they’re preparing for the game to “break” “after release,” so fans can be at ease knowing the dev team is already prepared for all that’s to come!
The Breathedge 2 Trailer starts with a speeding futuristic train- ship hybrid. Upon the first person character entering, they’re met with their teammates in a room. Next, they’re grabbing a chicken when the train-ship blows up and the character, their teammates, the chicken and train-ship are falling out of the sky. The playable character finds themself in an area called “The Outskirts,” with two sentient robots, a maybe dead old lady, the remains of cars, scrap and more. The playable character uses a grappling sucker to grab, place and hold items, while using the tools in hand to smash items, while working on fixing a space station.
With a choice of “Tools” and items to craft, the first person character works on items and builds to survive and create necessities, while avoiding blasts from ships and attacking robots. They explore ship parts, encounter interesting aliens, and seem to avoid sabotage as the trailer ends on a high note. The game’s About page goes into more detail about the upcoming game, noting that one reason the trailer character may be fighting so many creatures is because one of the player’s missions is “to put an end to the Breathedge Corporation.” It also notes that there are “companions” in the game that’ll be very important, and other aspects not seen in the trailer, so fans can head over for more information or wait for pleasant surprises upon release.
