Borderlands 3 Launches on Steam Next Month, Second Expansion Set to Release Two Weeks Later

After six months of being exclusive to the Epic Games StoreBorderlands 3 will finally be released for Steam next month on March 13. A lot of fans have been waiting for the title to grace the most well-known PC digital retailer’s library, and the wait is almost over. In addition, the game will feature crossplay between Steam and the Epic Games Store, allowing players from both launchers to play online together. Steam already has the game page up on its website, along with the aforementioned release date.

On top of this already exciting news, Gearbox revealed some more information during their panel at PAX East. The second paid expansion, titled Guns, Love, and Tentacles will be launching shortly after the game’s Steam release on March 26. The main premise of the content is the much-anticipated marriage between Wainwright Jakobs and Sir Hammerlock, both prominent characters in the Borderlands storyline. However, on the eve of the wedding, the area is invaded by monsters that are clearly inspired by Cthulhu and H.P. Lovecraft.

Guns, Love, and Tentacles will also see the return of one of the all-time favorite Vault Hunters from Borderlands 2, Gaige the Mechromancer. The expansion will include a brand new planet to explore, new class mods, and more guns. As we stated earlier, this is the second expansion for Borderlands 3, with the first being Moxxi’s Heist of Handsome Jack which released at the end of 2019.

Gearbox also stated that they are currently working on the third and fourth paid expansions, with the third one well in development but without a release date. Those who have the Season Pass will get any and all content right as soon as it becomes available, otherwise you’ll need to fork over some extra cash to obtain them. Gearbox dropped a lot of information on us this week. Steam is about to get one of the biggest and best games from 2019, and we can’t wait to get our hands on the newest expansion when it come out.

Borderlands 3 is available now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC through the Epic Games Store. It will launch for Steam next month on March 13. The second expansion, Guns, Love, and Tentacles, is scheduled to launch on March 26.
