Blue Protocol: Star Resonance has finally announced its full release launch date. The MMORPG is Bandai Namco and A Plus Japan’s second attempt at expanding the Blue Protocol franchise outside of the east. The original Blue Protocol saw itself closing Japan’s servers before it even saw the light in the west. And, of note, those familiar with the original Blue Protocol will find that the story in Star Resonance is different.

The anime-style MMORPG will be released globally in Europe, North America, and South America on October 9, 2025. Players looking forward to the game can wishlist the game on PC via Steam or the Epic Games Store, and on mobile devices through the Apple App Store and Google Play store. Cross-play will be available between PC and mobile devices, as well.

The Star Resonance YouTube channel released “CBT So-Serious” report earlier today, providing statistics gathered during the closed beta test, ranging from job distributions to which boss the players had the most trouble with! The video, through statistics, provided an overview of some of the activities that players can do outside of combat as well, including fishing, seeking treasure in the open world, and using toys.

The YouTube channel also posted a “Beta Test Recap Music Video” featuring footage from the closed beta test as Star Resonance’s official theme song, “Starlight Over Asterleeds~星々が輝く場所~,” plays. Those looking forward to the game can see snippets of cutscenes from the story, players working together to take down tough world bosses, and some of the non-combat activities mentioned earlier, like fishing. It also gives a good glimpse at the scope of player customization that while be available through all the players featured in the video.

The anime-style MMORPG will have eight combat classes available upon launch, and each class will have two subclasses to choose from. For initial thoughts on the combat of Star Resonance, you can read my initial thoughts as the closed beta came to a close here. Those searching for an MMORPG with an anime style, flashy combat, and a good mix of non-combat things to do, Star Resonance may scratch that itch.
