Players looking forward to the World Of Warcraft: Shadowlands livestream will be unable to see it for a while. The livestream, which was originally planned to be broadcast on June 9th has been postponed. It is unknown at the moment when the livestream will be released, however, the World Of Warcraft Twitter account has stated that it will “…share more details about the expansion in the future.”
Other companies have followed suit and produced similar gestures. Yesterday, from 11 am-1 pm Pacific Time Rockstar Games made both Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Redemption Online inaccessible as well as providing link to a number of charity organizations people can donate to. Infinity Ward has also produced a similar gesture by making Call Of Duty display Black Lives Matter message on every loading screen and before every match on the PlayStation 4 version. Epic Games has also delayed Fortnite Season 3 in order to stand in solidarity with the protesters as they fight for an end to police brutality and systemic racism. Sony also postponed their PlayStation 5 Future Of Gaming Event, which was supposed to air on June 4th, in order to show solidarity with Black Lives Matter. PC Gamer has also postponed their upcoming event, the online PC Gaming Show, which was originally going to air on June 6th, changing the date to June 13th.
Numerous gaming companies including Microsoft, Bethesda, EA Sports, Insomniac Games, Riot Games, and many others have come out and shown support for the Black Lives Matter movement through Tweets.
