Blizzard Arcade Classics ReReleased on PC and Consoles

A Blizzard blast from the past! Blizzard Entertainment has released three of the video game company’s earliest hits. The three titles — The Lost Vikings, Blackthorne, and Rock N Roll Racing — have been re-released as The Blizzard Arcade Collection. Blizzard announced news of the drop during the opening ceremony for BlizzConline. The collection was released Friday on Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The retro games will also be available to play on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X through backwards compatibility.

The Blizzard Arcade Collection is available as part of Blizzard’s Celebration Collection on PC which means if players have already bought any of the three tiers (the Essential, Heroic, or Epic packs), the Arcade Collection will be added to their Battle.net for no extra cost. The three games will also be included in the new Blizzard 30-Year Celebration Collection bundle for consoles. The three arcade games can also be bought separately from the bundles for $19.99 — this covers both Original and Definitive versions of the games. According to Blizzard’s press release, the Definitive version of the games adds “additional upgrades like enhanced local multiplayer for The Lost Vikings and Rock N Roll Racing, new songs and artist performances for Rock N Roll Racing, a new level map for Blackthorne, localization for 12 languages, and more.”

For those enjoying the major nostalgia, Blizzard also added digital manuals, past and present interviews with The Lost Vikings, Rock N Roll Racing and Blackthorne developers, and classic artwork. The Blizzard Arcade Collection is now ready for players (new or old) to explore.
