Last year, Berserk Boy Games unveiled the second project under their aptly titled Berserk Boy mascot, dubbed Berserk B.I.T.S, and as of this past October 9, the game received a planned release date trailer. Being a series heavily inspired by Capcom’s Megaman franchise, Berserk Boy’s latest installment goes the route of the spin-off by inventively reimagining the Megaman Battle Network spin-off games. Unlike the real-time tactical RPG classic, however, Berserk B.I.T.S flips the formula popularized by its predecessor to that of an idle desktop RPG.

Similar to other idle resource-gathering experiences, in Berserk B.I.T.S, your B.I.T will automatically do battle within the confines of your computer’s desktop menu, collecting items, upgrades, and leveling up over time. Whether completely obscured by other open applications or fully maximized for a more immersive experience, by dropping them into a mission, your B.I.T will triumph over the mysterious viruses attacking the net, that is, assuming your B.I.T can manage to survive every battle on its own. For this reason, while Berserk B.I.T.S is an idle battler at heart, players will quickly find that the game’s deck-building aspect has a significant hand in deciding their B.I.T’s survival.

Fans of artistic, creative outlets will enjoy one specific feature detailed in Berserk B.I.T.S’ Steam page. This feature is the introduction of fully replaceable and customizable character sprite animations, which allow the player to import their personally created or original characters into the game. With interactable and customizable pixel art environments meant for the player to spend time with their B.I.T outside of battle, campaign-style missions, side-quests, and the developers’ planned continued support after the game’s release, there is certainly a lot to be excited about when it comes to the release of Berserk B.I.T.S.

Fans of the Megaman franchise’s Battle Network spin-off series and other similar idle games should find joy at the imminent release of Berserk B.I.T.S to PC via Steam on November 20. For gamers who want to get their hands on the game sooner rather than later, a free-to-play demo was released on February 3 and remains available thanks to the Steam Next Fest.
