Bastion Coming To Xbox One, Free For Those Who Bought It On 360

If you somehow missed out on Bastion, one of the biggest indie hits back in 2011, then now’s your chance. The game has been available on PS4 since April of last year, but now it will be making the jump over to Xbox One. Supergiant Games wrote a blog post detailing the announcement.

Bastion is an isometric hack and slash game with some RPG elements where players take control of silent protagonist named “The Kid” as he travels the city of Caelondia in search of the Bastion. The city was fractured after The Calamity. The game was beloved by gamers and critics alike with the game itself winning over one hundred industry awards.

Perhaps the biggest news is that those who purchased the game on Xbox 360 will get the game for free if they download it before January 1st of next year. If you haven’t then the game will run you $14.99.

This is re-release isn’t a remaster but the game will feature a bump in resolution from 720p to 1080p. The game will include the Stranger’s Dream DLC and more achievements to unlock. The port wasn’t handled by Supergiant Games, instead, it was farmed out to Blitworks a Barcelona-based developer.

To celebrate the anniversary of Bastion’s release on the Xbox Live Arcade Supergiant will be selling a special anniversary t-shirt designed by Nina Matsumoto. The shirt can be pre-ordered for $19.99 and is expect to ship sometime this holiday season, possibly just in time for Christmas.

Bastion will launch on the Xbox One on December 12th for $14.99 or free if you purchased the game back when it came out.
