Wasteland 3 Has Been Successfully Crowdfunded and Will Begin Pre Production

Beginning in early October, inXile Entertainment released trailer and started a crowdfunding campaign on Fig.co for the third installment of Wasteland 3. The crowdfunding turned out to be a huge success and was able to surpass their goal of $2,750,000 and end up with $3,121,716.  So what happens next?

The campaign for Wasteland 3 is over, but that doesn’t mean that our work is done! After the storm there’s always a lot of pieces to pick up and chairs to put right. Today we have some odds and ends to go over with you. But first, one final thank you!

Earlier this morning on their fig.co page they posted some information detailing what happens now that they have reached their goal. for starters, if you wish to still back the project then they have instructed people to head over to CrowdOx to become a pledge.

For those who have already pledged, you will have to wait a little bit to get your free game key. It takes time for them to get everything sorted out with payments, so until they get everything sorted you’ll just have to wait patiently. Once everything is sorted out, the pledge’s information will be transferred to inXile’s backer system where they can begin to process everyone and get out the digital reward codes.

Within the update its mentioned that launching a crowdfunding campaign is much like launching a game and,

As a result, Wasteland 3 is already in a great early state, and now we will be doubling down on pre-production, getting as much design, writing, world-building, lore, and concepting on the road as humanly possible. As those pre-production efforts start coming to a close, developers from the Torment team will roll onto Wasteland 3, taking that groundwork forward into full development… and that’s where the fun really begins.

With no timetable as to when the game will be completed, backers must simply sit by and watch as their investment grows into a masterpiece.
