Bandai Namco Releases Official Trailer for God Eater 3

Bandai Namco has revealed the official trailer for God Eater 3, which was previously talked about at last years Tokyo Game Show. The God Eater series has been around since its first version on PlayStation Portable, and the release of God Eater 2 on PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita. The series also has an anime adaptation that finished airing in 2016.

The trailer for God Eater 3 starts off in a destroyed city, overrun by various kinds of glowing and ominous plants. The scene quickly changes to a person who appears to be the protagonist, standing on a rocky cliff. Off-camera, people’s are heard shouting from a device about being attacked by Aragami. As the last words “it’s time to go” are said from the device, the protagonist breaks free from prison shackles binding his wrists and picks up two large dual swords likely to be “God Arcs,” which are “special weapons powered by Oracle Cells and the only known weapons capable of destroying the monstrous Aragami.” Bandai Namco has given more detail as to what the Aragami are, and the God Eater’s who have to fight them.

“A lot of years have been passed from the last battle. The earth is not anymore the place humans were used to live. The Aragami, terrifying beasts are still raging around the world creating misery and destruction. To save the world and re-establish the balance new heroes has been raised – the God Eaters – man who have been gifted or cursed with new version of the God Arc weapons…”

The rest of the trailer shows the protagonist going into battle against the Aragami, large monstrous creatures with huge claws, wielding fire, electric attacks and more. Battles appear to happen in real-time similar to previous God Eater titles, allowing players to fight in a more dynamic manner through slashing their opponent while using well-timed dodges to evade enemy attacks. Bandai Namco has not released anymore information about the fighting mechanics, however some sort of team aspect may be expected upon release, as the company states players will be able to “team up with other God Eaters to take down monstrous new Aragami that are tearing apart locations around the globe.”

God Eater 3 does not have an official release date or platform at the moment, but those interested in the game can follow Bandai Namco and Project G.E.’s official twitters for future updates.
