Bandai Namco Denies Reports That Scarlet Nexus Will Be On Xbox Game Pass on Launch Day

Earlier this week, Video Games Chronicles reported on a claim that Scarlet Nexus was going to come to the Xbox Games Pass on its launch day of June 25. Apparently, the claim was made that the game had been acquired for the online service. Now it’s been reported by the same publication that the developer, Bandai Namco, is saying otherwise. The company has made statement, officially knocking down the rumor of Scarlet Nexus being on the Xbox Game Pass when it releases.

According to the site, a Bandai Namco representative stated that “We have no plans to bring Scarlet Nexus to Xbox Game Pass at this time and are excited for its launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on June 25.” The initial claim suggested that Scarlet Nexus would be the latest title to grace the Xbox Game Pass program, but this is obviously not going to be the case. Microsoft has cut deals in the past with other third-party titles, such as Outridersto be made available on the Xbox Game Pass, so the initial buzz around the rumor wasn’t exactly unwarranted.

Scarlet Nexus is Bandai Namco’s upcoming third-person action JRPG, with the aesthetics being similar to their other JRPG title Code Vein. The game was originally unveiled during The Game Awards 2020 and was given an official release date few months later. The company also announced that an anime adaptation would be produced to coincide with the title. Early previews for the game have been fairly positive, which is normally a good sign, especially when the release date is so soon. Thankfully we don’t have to wait long to get our hands on it and find out for ourselves.

Scarlet Nexus will launch on June 25 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
