New Call of Duty Mobile Game in the Works

Activision has created a new internal mobile development studio to make a brand new Call of Duty Mobile title. The new studio is called “Activision Mobile.” This is verified by the sighting of a new job listing on the Activision site revealing the company is hiring for a new “Activision Mobile” internal development studio that will focus on continuing the company’s push to expand their mobile presence following Call of Duty: Mobile’s success. This was first noticed by VGC.

The description of the new internal studio says that Activision Mobile will focus on the publishing operations and live services of Call of Duty: Mobile, but also expand to partner with development studios on creating a “new AAA Call of Duty mobile game”. So exciting!

The new details in the job listing also say that Activision Mobile is currently working on an AAA mobile title in the Call of Duty franchise.

The team has job listings for a “Producer, Mobile” that says the team’s “first project” is AAA Call of Duty franchise game. Activision has yet to announce what the new “AAA” mobile game will be or how it will connect with the currently existing Call of Duty Mobile title.

There is a large amount of speculation about this transition, because of the job listings that have been seen. But instead of talking about that, it is more important to talk about the meaning of this for the mobile game world. Call of Duty is one of the most popular video games of all time, having it come to the mobile game world could be huge. Is it possible that these kinds of games going mobile could push every other mode of gaming into obsolescence? Mobile gaming is the easiest, most accessible, and most portable way to game, so why wouldn’t it?
