Awesome Games Done Quick 2022 Charity Event Begins Jan. 9 Through Jan. 16

Games Done Quick, an organization that raises money for charity by hosting annual speedrun events, will hold their yearly Awesome Games Done Quick winter event in a week. This year’s Awesome Games Done Quick 2022 will take place online starting this Sunday, Jan. 9th at 11:30 am EST and continue until midnight on Jan. 16th. Similar to their previous events that occurred during the pandemic, Awesome Games Done Quick 2022 will be virtual and available to watch online via Games Done Quick’s official Twitch channel. This year, all donations made during the event will go towards the Prevent Cancer Foundation.


Games Done Quick has already released the schedule for AGDQ 2022, which will kick off with a pre-show at 11:30 am EST. The first speedrun of the day will begin at 9:00 am EST with Nioh 2. Games that will be played later on in the day include Metroid Prime Hunters, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest, Deathloop, Axiom Verge 2, Mega Man 2, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, Death’s Door, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of SeasonDead Space 2, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time, Rite, and Mail Mole. According to the Games Done Quick website, viewers will have the chance to win prizes during the event with no purchase or donation necessary to enter the sweepstakes or win prizes. More information regarding AGDQ 2022’s sweepstakes rules can be read here. Additionally, viewers can refer to a tracker to see lists that include information about the event, such as all the available prizes to win, more details about the speedruns, and donors and donations made throughout the event.

After this event, Games Done Quick will host their Summer Games Done Quick 2022 charity event, but the exact date is still being determined. Last year, Games Done Quick raised total of $2.9 million for Doctors Without Borders during their Summer Games Done Quick 2021 event, which set a new record for Games Done Quick’s online events. This is not the first time Games Done Quick has broken personal records. Most notably, the organization previously raised $3.13 million during AGDQ 2020, which was the most amount raised in its ten-year history.
