Animal Crossing: New Horizons Drops December Update Trailer

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! A new trailer for Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ December update has dropped. The update will bring winter fun to your island, including a new holiday-themed event, bugs and fish, and new DIY recipes. The trailer titled “Exploring December” was released on Nintendo’s Official YouTube account.

The trailer opens up to an island with blankets of snow and trees decorated with ornaments. These decorations will fall from the trees; players will be able to pocket the goodies and use them in DIY recipes. The trailer shows you what you’ll be able to make this season — including festive trees, reindeer decorations, stacked presents, and even gnomes. The decor will have your island looking like a winter wonderland in no time.

Possibly the biggest addition to the game update will be the Animal Crossing Toy Day Event. Jingle the Reindeer, the season’s ambassador, will show up to task you with giving presents to the neighbors on your island. The gifting exchange will take place on December 24th. There will also be brand new items you can buy from Nook’s Cranny, like festive holiday sweaters or even a Pocket Camp Nook phone case.

The new season will also bring new animals to catch around the island! The trailer shows how players can find dung beetles behind rolled up snowballs and if you’re feeling extra adventurous, you can even go diving for lobster. According to Gamerant, five different fish will be joining the waters this December. Players in the Northern Hemisphere will be able to catch smelt, stringfish, sea butterfly, squid, and oarfish throughout the entire day.

Are you ready to create your own winter wonderland? The Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ December Update is ready to play, just don’t forget to bundle up with all of that snow!
