Animal Crossing May Day Tour: All You Need to Know

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is holding another seasonal event called May Day from May 1st to May 7th. The actual event isn’t a week long, but you’ll have a week to capitalize on the festivities. Players will have the opportunity to tour a special island and solve a maze using only items found on this island.

To receive your May Day ticket, speak with Tom Nook at Resident Services, and he’ll reward it to you for all your “hard work.” You may then head straight to the airport to use the ticket; any items in your inventory will be held at the airport until you get back. Speak with Orville and select the option “I wanna fly!” Then select “Use May Day Ticket” and you’ll be transported to the special island. Once there, you’ll be met with the May Day Maze!

Items you’ll find on the island include tools, crafting materials, and your native fruit; these can be used to help you on your tour. There are 9 bells vouchers, each worth 3,000 bells at Nook’s Cranny, scattered within the Maze. However, the main objective is simply to reach the end of it and find the special NPC who’s returning from previous games, Rover. You’ll need fruit power to move rocks or dig up trees, and they’ll have to be rationed if you plan to retrieve all 9 bell vouchers. You can find DIY recipes for the flimsy axe and regular axe on the island, and these should help you as well.

If you’re stuck or trapped in the maze, you can use the Rescue Service app on your NookPhone to reset the maze and your inventory. Wilbur can also give you hints, though if you aren’t really aiming for all the vouchers it shouldn’t be that difficult to reach Rover. The estimated time it takes to complete the maze is 15 minutes, and Rover will reward you for reaching the end with a special piece of furniture! Dodo’s will send you the prize and the bell vouchers you retrieved in the mail as soon as you return from tour.
