All Overwatch 2 Reveals At BlizzCon 2023

Gaming Giant Blizzard has begun the long-awaited BlizzCon 2023 event at Anaheim, California, giving Blizzard fans a sneak peek towards the near future of its iconic IPs.

Presented by Overwatch 2 art director Dion Rogers, Mauga is a Samoan-inspired tank hero who is a part of the chaotic Talon faction. He wields dual chainguns guns, with one that causes fire damage and the other causing critical damage towards enemies with fire damage. Additionally, Mauga has a charge ability, a self-heal, and an Ultimate that traps enemies in a cage with him while he has infinite ammo.

Following its opening ceremony, BlizzCon 2023 started the show revealing all new information on Overwatch 2. Beginning with the announcement of a new character, Mauga.

A new game mode called Clash was also announced that features five control points in a row that teams need to capture or reach a specific score to win. Clash will launch alongside a remake of the classic map Hanamura made named renamed as Hanaoka in addition to a “reworked system for ranked competitive play” in 2024.

Outside of new gameplay updates, Blizzard announced rather significant collaboration with the K-Pop group for Overwatch 2. In addition to playable Le Seraffim skins, the group will be performing a concert to end Blizzcon 2023 tomorrow, November 3rd.

Mauga is launching in Overwatch 2’s Season 8 on December 5, 2023. Blizzard teased an additional four new heroes and named two, the damage hero Venture and support dubbed Space Ranger. More information on Overwatch 2’s newest heroes will be released in 2024.
