It’s been a hot minute but we’ve finally got some content for Capcom’s Street Fighter 6. We now have a World Tour trailer for the next DLC character in Street Fighter 6’s Season 3 roster: Street Fighter: Third Strike protagonist Alex.
Now, as with all other World Tour teasers this doesn’t really show us how Alex is going to be applied mechanically. Mainly it’s just to show us that yes, he does in fact exist and this is the general idea as to what he’s going to be doing. Third Strike or Street Fighter 5 players will notice some of his iconic moves returning such as his Hyper Bomb, Air Stampede jumping stomp, his 4HP hitgrab headbutt, and even his flying dropkick jump heavy kick. There are snippets of some of his other moves as well, like his Flash Chop and Big Boot, but we don’t really see them clearly.
We DO see Alex use his Sleeper Hold command grab though, and brutally to his opponent Andore (don’t worry it’s not Hugo, Hugo is much much bigger so there’s still hope he’ll be DLC). This ties in to the character change Alex has gone through. True to the tradition wrestler type fighting game characters have gone through in recent entries Alex has “turned heel”, or become a bad guy. He’s always been a bit abrasive but this is the first time he’s been outright antagonistic to his opponents and his fans, and the black leather and beanie look compliment that.
Alex is always a fan favorite, even if he tends to be a very annoying and gimmicky low tier, so Street Fighter players are sure to be excited for his release. Sadly, Alex is not set to release until Spring of 2026, which means we won’t see him until March or even June, which isn’t going to help the cries of content drought from the community.
