Alex Hutchinson, director of hit games such as Assassin’s Creed 3 and Far Cry has left Ubisoft. He announced that he left the French game designing giant via his Twitter account. He released a series of tweets, stating that he is leaving Ubisoft in order to start his own studio, called Typhoon Studios.

He founded Typhoon Studios with former EA executive producer Rich Sneider in Montreal. He and Sneider previously worked together at Electronic Arts for close to a decade before Hutchinson made the switch to Ubisoft.
There’s currently not much to say about the official website for Typhoon Studios. Right now, there is only a page saying that they are currently hiring. According to the official website for Typhoon Studios, they are “looking for OUTSTANDING talent who want to make waves in the industry” and are “looking for people who are not afraid to be BOLD!”
In addition to Assassin’s Creed 3 and Far Cry 4, Hutchinson was the lead designer for Sims 2, Spore and Army of 2: The 40th Day.
Hutchinson has been designing video games for up to 15 years, and we all wish him the best of luck as he builds his new Studio from the bottom up.
