Alan Wake Remastered Gets a Surprise Release for the Nintendo Switch, Available Now

Those with a Nintendo Switch, you might want to check the newest releases for the day. The company has announced that the long awaited Alan Wake Remastered has finally made its way to the Nintendo Switch. While we knew that it would eventually come to Nintendo’s flagship console, there was no release date given up to this point. Well it turns out that release date is today, and the game is available right now for the Nintendo Switch!

It’s been a little more than a year now since Alan Wake Remastered graced the modern console market, as well as PC. The game of course is a complete remaster of the 2010 classic horror/suspense title that was critically acclaimed. It includes the main game, as well as the two story expansions; The Signal and The Writer, which continue the plot of the initial base game. As we mentioned, the remaster hit all other modern home consoles last year, meaning that the Nintendo Switch is the final modern system that did not have the game until this week.

This is perfect timing as Halloween is right around the corner. It’s also a great opportunity for newcomers to catch up as Remedy is hard at work on the very highly anticipated follow up Alan Wake 2. That title has been a project years in the making, with little to no mention until The Game Awards 2021 where it was officially revealed. It was then later confirmed to have release time frame for some time in 2023. We’re still waiting for a more concrete date, but until then, we still have this excellent remaster to go through. Alan Wake Remastered is now available on the Nintendo Switch, and for a limited time is on sale for 20% off before it goes back up to the fully priced $39.99.
