Originally Alan Wake 2 was to launch October 17th, and with the October 27th release now, it’ll still fit within the Halloween, spooky timeframe that Alan Wake 2 is well known for.
Alan Wake 2 would’ve launched the same week as what it is expected to be the biggest game release of this year, Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. October will also see the launch of Forza Motorsport, Super Marios Bros Wonder, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Detective Pikachu Returns, and more titles, ahead of the holiday season. This also comes as earlier this week, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage would be released a week earlier on October 5th.
Alan Wake which first released in 2010 from Remedy Entertainment is an action-adventure game, which follows novelist Alan Wake who’s uncovering the mystery of his missing wife in the small town of Bright Falls, Washington. Alan Wake received a remaster which released last year in October. During The Game Awards 2021, Alan Wake 2 was announced for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, it’s been highly anticipated from longtime dedicated fans looking to see what’s next to the Alan Wake story. In May, Remedy revealed that Alan Wake 2 would be a digital-only release, defending the choice that it would help keep the cost of the game at $59.99 for consoles and $49.99 on PC. From their FAQ Remedy also regarded that, “we did not want to ship a disc product and have it require a download for the game — we do not think this would make for a great experience either.”
