After Reset Kickstarter Closes at $94,892

It’s been a long time coming, but After Reset, the classic-styled RPG from indie devs Black Cloud, closed its latest kickstarter with nearly triple its initial funding goal.

We’ve already talked about After Reset and its Kickstarter campaign twice: first, when the kickstarter was first announced last month, and later when the build team released the first information on some of the races players would encounter in the game’s world. Now, the game’s Kickstarter has come to an end, and Black Cloud have raked in an impressive $94,892, nearly triple the game’s initial $35,000 goal.

For those not already familiar with the game and its Kickstarter, After Reset is setting out to be a post-apocalyptic RPG in the vein of classic titles like Wasteland and the early Fallout titles. The game has been in development for quite some time, with creator Richard Nixon and Black Cloud having difficulty gathering adequate funding to complete the ambitious indie game.

Now, hopefully, those money woes can be left in the past. Black Cloud were quite happy with the end result of their kickstarter, and made sure to thank all of their backers on the Kickstarter’s closing page.

Today I am proud to announce that together, we did it. Yes, any mere gamer, like myself, can take it upon themselves to stop moaning on forums and establish their own serious development team to build the game of their dreams. Proven by gamers, for gamers!

Beyond us, we must bow to all communities, all journalists, all medias, streamers, brother indie developers, cool guys from Steam and GOG, our families and friends who bore with us, who trusted us, and believed in the After Reset RPG.

Richard Nixon shared further thanks for the game’s backers before also announcing that, due to the success of the Kickstarter, After Reset would be making the move from part-time to full-time development, hopefully bringing the project to fruition sooner than either backers, or the game’s team themselves, had considered possible.

If you’re interested in helping to back After Reset but missed the game’s Kickstarter for one reason or another, you can still do so through the game’s official website by pre-ordering one of the packs available there. Otherwise, you can just wait until the game releases and ge tready to dive into what looks like a truly interesting indie RPG.
