Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion Arrives in Spring of 2018

Popular Cartoon Network animated series Adventure Time is getting a new, open-world game in 2018. Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion is an aquatic journey set in the flooded Land of Ooo, rendered in the style of Adventure Time and voiced by the cast of the TV show.

“In this brand-new, hilarious Adventure Time story, gamers play as Finn, Jake, Marceline, and BMO to explore fan-favorite kingdoms,” developer Outright Games shared in its announcement post. “The game starts with a flooded Land of Ooo, in which familiar kingdoms are cut off from each other by rising waters. In their newly constructed boat, Finn and Jake set sail to investigate what the junk went down. During their adventures, Finn and Jake will recruit friends to join their crew, jump into swashbuckling fights, interrogate characters for clues, and traverse the new and dangerous sea to locations across Ooo.”

Outright Games has also launched a fan competition to name Finn and Jake’s boat. The Name Our Boat competition is accepting submissions now, and it’s running until January 2nd. Boat moniker ideas (no more than 12 characters long) can be submitted to Outright’s website here.

In addition to its open-world gameplay, the game will feature a new, original story set in the Adventure Time universe, tactical combat, hero progression, and, naturally, pirates. Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS and PC in the spring of 2018.

Glenn Carreau: Hi! I'm Glenn: recent college grad specializing in interactive arts and media, writer, game creator and connoisseur, pop culture junkie, and semi-professional fan-artist and blogger. In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
