In a blog post by Activision, the Call of Duty team addressed some of the fixes that will be coming to season 2 of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone. Additionally, the team addressed some of their future plans for the rest of 2022 that will bring future games and new experiences.
The team announced that their number one priority is to improve the “Quality of Life” for their players. These adjustments came in the form of patches during the delay of season 2 as well as the official release on February 14. Due to this dedication to improvement, they announced that there will be over 30 changes that players can expect in the upcoming season. Vehicle handling, parachute deployment at a lower vertical height, collision fixes, and increased player mantle height are all going to be improved in the new season. In addition to improvements for season 2 of these games, Activision also gave fans updates on what to expect for the rest of 2022.
One of the biggest announcements is that the upcoming Call of Duty game is going to be a sequel to Modern Warfare (2019). Both the upcoming sequel and a new Warzone experience will be developed together from the ground up and will be powered by a new engine. Additionally, development for the new Call of Duty and new Warzone experience will each be led by Infinity Ward. Finally, the team says that fans can expect a “massive evolution of Battle Royale” that will include a new playspace and sandbox mode.
The announcements by Activision have made fans very excited for the future of the Call of Duty franchise. The company’s commitment to “Quality of Life” will surely improve gameplay in the current games while the announcements about 2022 have created a lot of interest in the upcoming games.
