State Of Play & State Of Play Japan Is Set To Return On Thursday, September 3

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced State of Play is set to return this Thursday, September 3, starting at 6:00 am PT / 9:00 am ET / 3:00 pm CEST, with two broadcasts back-to-back.

First, State of Play returns with updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners. It will conclude with an extended look at the vast world of Final Fantasy VII Revelation.

Right after, State of Play Japan returns for a new episode which will be hosted again by Yuki Kaji. State of Play Japan will offer deep dives into upcoming games from game studios in Japan and Asia, including new gameplay, announcements, and more.

To get a better sense of what we can expect, last year’s State of Play around this time officially revealed Marvel’s Wolverine, new looks at Crimson Desert, Nioh 3, Battlefield 6, and more. Back in 2025, the last State of Play Japan saw looks and updates at Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, Dynasty Warriors Origins, Elden Ring Nightreign DLC, Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake, and more.

While nothing has been officially announced, SIE’s current slate of announced first-party games includes God of War Laufey, Horizon Hunters Gathering, Until Dawn 2, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and Fairgames. We may see a new look at some of these titles in a few days or not. We’ll have to wait and see.
