343 Explains How to Play in Halo Infinite’s Tech Preview

Halo Infinite is coming soon! Fall of 2021 is just around the corner, but for the players that simply can’t wait to get back into the Halo Universe, hopefully they’ll be lucky enough to get a coveted spot in the Halo Infinite Tech Preview. This weekend, the game will open the floodgates and allow a lucky few to hop in and get a taste of what Halo: Infinite has to offer in its’ multiplayer, which will be free-to-play upon release. If you did manage to get in though, Gamespot reports that email confirmations are on the way.

Brian Jarrard, Community Director of Halo: Infinite, took to twitter to explain just how 343 is deciding who gets in and who misses out. First and foremost, players need to have their entire Halo Insider profile completed– and yes, that does mean the entire profile. Jarrard also expressed concern that many players who had attempted to sign up didn’t actually complete this process and were taken out of the running because of this.

So long as the player’s Halo Insider profile is properly filled out though, then they are officially in the running. After that, 343 has target numbers for each platform Halo: Infinite is coming to (Xbox One, Series X|S, PC). Recruitment will be based on who has been waiting to play for the longest time, so unfortunately players who just joined the program recently probably won’t be getting into the closed tech preview.

If you’re still waiting for your golden ticket, don’t worry! Jarrard made sure to explain that there are a lot of emails going out, so it may take a while for them to reach all the lucky gamers hoping to get a taste of the brand new Halo multiplayer. Keep your eyes on your email and be sure to check spam folders. However, there’s always a chance that an email will get lost somehow, so if you didn’t see anything in your inbox, check Waypoint. All “insiders” will get a message with congrats and instructions on how to play. You can check out Brian Jarrard’s full thread below.
