During the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary event, Square Enix and the team behind the series revealed what’s next for the franchise. Two new games were announced as well as the final chapter for Kingdom Hearts Union X Dark Road. Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link is a brand new action RPG mobile game featuring an original story of its own. The next installment in the beloved Kingdom Hearts RPG series was also officially revealed. Kingdom Hearts IV sets Sora, Donald, and Goofy on a brand-new adventure, titled the ‘Lost Master Arc.’

Kingdom Hearts IV picks up after the events of Kingdom Hearts III and the Re Mind DLC. The trailer showcases Quadratum, a large expansive city set in a gorgeous, realistic world that’s unlike anything that’s been seen in the Kingdom Hearts series. The trailer showcases the new world, the new stylish look for Sora, and combat against a giant enemy. The trailer also features a brief appearance from Donald and Goofy as they seem to be searching for Sora and Strelitzia, a character new to the mainline games. Strelitzia was first introduced in Kingdom Hearts Union X[Cross].
Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link is the first location-based action RPG in the Kingdom Hearts series and will bring iconic worlds like Scala and Caelum into the real world. Players will take on fast-paced exciting battles against the Heartless alone or with friends. A Closed Beta (limited to specific regions) will come in 2022.
The last chapter of Kingdom Hearts Dark Road for Kingdom Hearts Union X Dark Road was also announced at the event. It will launch in August 2022 as a free upodate to the app.
