Tiranogg is an indie role-playing game inspired by Celtic culture and mythology that was released on Nov. 19, 2021 for the PC. The game was developed and published by Studio Loregard, an indie game developer with a love for Japanese role-playing games, also known as JRPGs. According to Studio Loregard’s official website, Tiranogg is the developer’s official debut into the indie world of gaming and immersive RPGs.
You play as Laine, a mercenary who discovers that she is the rightful heir to the throne of Sangreal. In order for her to officially take the throne, she must stop Indech, a man who declares himself as the ruler of Sangreal and has a secret plan to accomplish using crysalii. You will join Laine and her friends on a journey to find the isle of Raguel, a lost island that will prove Laine’s ancestry and help her secure her rightful place as the queen of Sangreal.
Tiranogg pays homage to classic JRPGs, and the lovely pixel graphics create a nostalgic atmosphere and gameplay experience that reminds you of earlier JRPGs played on the SNES and PSX systems. The game incorporates around 15-20 hours of gameplay, which gives you time to fully discover and explore over 40 different locations on the map so you can look for items, battle bosses and enemies, and increase passive abilities and skills for you and your party. There are also six available characters to play, including a secret seventh character that will be revealed as your journey progresses. The game also includes a story ridden with lore and a beautiful original soundtrack.
If you enjoy JRPGs like Dragon Quest for its in-game fighting mechanics, you should check out Tiranogg, which is out now. Tiranogg is available for purchase on Steam for the original price of $14.99. Currently, the game is on sale for $12.74 until Nov. 26, 2021.
