While PlayStation has been notably quiet for the year not having a PlayStation Experience last year and not attending E3 2019, a new rumor suggests that two key events will change that dramatically. The rumor, posted on NeoGaf breaks down what Sony may be planning for the future with a State of Play in November and a PlayStation Meeting in February 2020.
According to the rumor, the next State of Play will take place on November 1, 2019, and it “will have a similar but slightly longer duration than the previous State of Play. It will focus on three highly anticipated games coming, namely Death Stranding, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and The Last of Us: Part II. A launch trailer will be released for Death Stranding before it’s released later in November; Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will also get a new trailer or new look before the game’s release; And finally, a new trailer for The Last of Us: Part II will be released and it will give a release date of May 2020. There have been several rumors and leaks as to when The Last of Us: Part II will come out. The rumor also points out that “this information comes directly from a former senior marketing manager who has worked in the studios of Sony Interactive Entertainment PlayStation.”
Following that, the next key event that PlayStation is rumored to have is the PlayStation Meeting 2020, where another highly anticipated game will be showcased. Not much has been heard of Ghost of Tsushima since it gameplay reveal at E3 2018, “but it seems that the development of the game is proceeding in a more than favorable manner within the SP studios.” However, according to the rumor, the game has seen many delays “mainly due to greater work on the technical side of the software for textures and framerates, to favor in particular the technical upgrade that will be given by the new hardware features of PS5.” The marketing team is set to concentrate the marketing promotion resources for the PlayStation Meeting.
