Everyone seems to be excited for the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake for a variety of reasons, whether it be that they enjoyed the original or never found a chance to play it. Now that the demo for Resident Evil 2 dropped, so have the statistics for those who played the demo. The site has a variety of statistics including player count worldwide, which is 1,716,745 as of writing, and the completion rate for the demo itself. There are certainly some interesting things to note about those statistics, like how most players come from North America and how the completion rate is only 28%. While the website doesn’t include average completion time, which would be interesting considering how players have found a way to speedrun the demo, that could be subject to change.
The current website only shows the mentioned statistics but it seems that once the full game releases, there will be more statistics visible on the website. These include percentage of players who chose to play as Leon or Claire during their first playthrough, the number of times a game has been played, the number of times a game has been cleared, individual players stats, and more. While individual players will probably have to log in to view their own statistics, the general statistics will more than likely be available without the need for players to log in.
For those who played Resident Evil 7, you might recall that there is a very similar page showing statistics for that game as well. Many of these statistics will probably have an equivalent for the Resident Evil 2 remake page, like “In-game time” and “Distance Travelled”. Some of the stats for the Resident Evil 7 page are unique though, such as number of players who were “Welcomed to the family”, so don’t expect those to crossover to the Resident Evil 2 remake page.
Resident Evil 2 releases on January 25, 2019 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
