Well here she is, the gameplay trailer for the character nobody expected and almost nobody requested, the final character of Street Fighter 6 Season 3, Ingrid!
If you’re confused as to what’s actually happening on screen don’t worry, so are most people. Ingrid doesn’t exactly do a lot of “street fighting” in Street Fighter. Luckily Capcom anticipated this and brought us a Steam blog post going over the intricacies of her gameplay.
Ingrid’s fireballs are a delayed projectile, a surefire sign of Satan design in Street Fighter 6. Her fireballs shoot at various angles and if she charges it the delay will probably allow her to Drive Rush behind the projectile.
Though the most interesting part of Ingrid’s design in this blog are her Sun Crests. Like Jamie, Juri, and Lily before her (and Manon though Manon’s kind of different) Ingrid is a “stock” character that can gather several stacks of stocks to empower her moves.
She also has a counter reversal in Sun Veil, a move that is depressingly similar to JP’s Amnesia, the best reversal move in the game though it seems like Sun Veil only grants you a knockdown rather than a round win like Amnesia. Oh, and she has a teleport.
All these tools, as well as just the sheer amount of flashing lights on the screen, point to Ingrid being a zoner. A pretty unpopular archetype especially in a game with JP but it’s still Street Fighter 6, so zoners can rush you down and 50/50 you with the best of them.
Ingrid is due to release on May 28th, 2026 and she’ll be coming with the 3rd costume for her Season 3 contemporaries Sagat, Crimson Viper, and Alex (and hopefully she’ll also be bringing a balance patch with her!). Ingrid’s an odd duck of a character in Street Fighter, and while she’s out of place she’s not even the most surprising thing said about Street Fighter 6 this week, but that’s a story for another time. Look forward to Ingrid’s release if you’re a fan of her!
