A teaser on a random Thursday! Again! As with the other teasers, this is merely a World Tour trailer for Ingrid, so we aren’t going to see any actual moves or anything. That being said, we do get a window for her release sometime in late Spring 2026, and as Ingrid is the final character of Season 3 of Street Fighter 6 we’ll be moving on to Season 4, where there might actually be balance changes.
Now, Ingrid is the most controversial character in Street Fighter 6 (at least before that whole Alex kerfuffle), and if you watch this teaser there’s a good reason for that: she doesn’t exactly do a whole lot of “street fighting” in Street Fighter. Ingrid’s origins are generally unknown, but she debuted in Street Fighter Alpha 3 all the way back in 1998 with some sporadic appearances since.
Ingrid has always been out of place in Street Fighter because, well, she’s some sort of “goddess” who likes to break the fourth wall (which she literally does in this trailer). She doesn’t have any grounding on Earth, and seems to be an alien princess of some kind, so it’s always been weird seeing her across the screen from a plain karate man like Ryu.
She’s controversial from a conceptual level, basically. Her reveal for the season 4 had a lot of people think they’d retool her backstory and make her a psycho powered crazy or something, but it’s looking like the alien god thing is being kept intact, which is brave to say the least.
Arguably the bigger thing to look forward to more than Ingrid is the potential of a bigger patch to come with her. A lot of people had high hopes for the Alex patch and they failed to deliver, so there’s a chance that there might come some real changes once Ingrid releases late Spring.
