“Our game was released on February 27th, and thanks to our players’ overwhelming response, we’ve already sold over five million copies,” Nakanishi said. “On behalf of the development team, I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude. Thank you very much!”
Nakanishi added that they have released an update to address a variety of issues and will continue to deal with any bugs and performance issues. More content will be coming to the game as well. The first thing will be a photo mode for the game. Capcom also said another surprise will be coming in May. They are also adding a mini-game.
“We hope to continue to providing support on Resident Evil Requiem to live up to its positive reception,” Nakanishi said.
Nakanishi ended the video talking about what players can expect from the upcoming story expansion which is in development. “We are planning to make extra story content! In this story, we will delve deeper into the world of Requiem. We are hard at work on it now. It will take some time, so we ask for your patience and hope you’ll look forward to it.”
Regarding the story expansion, many are speculating that the story will delve into the subtle plot twist at the end of the game. Many fans noticed Leon wearing a wedding ring which has sparked speculation as to who the partner is. Some think that the story expansion in development could explain who Leon is married to and what happened in his life since Resident Evil 6.
