Bandai Namco has released a 3-minute gameplay trailer for Dragon Ball Fusions. Dragon Ball Fusions is an upcoming Japanese Dragon Ball game. The game is set for an August 4th release date in Japan, with still no word on whether the game will receive localizations in other markets. Dragon Ball Fusions is an RPG based in the Dragon Ball universe and is using the fusion concept form the show. The game will have a number of available fusions that the player can use with the characters that make up their party. Dragon Ball Fusions will allow the player to go beyond the well-known fusions, like Gotenks and Gogeta, from the show. The game, it seems, will allow to player to fuse quite a number of the recognizable characters from the show into many never before seen fusions. Dragon Ball Fusions has received fairly positive reviews from Japanese video game critics, based on its Famitsu score of 33/40, receiving mostly 8s and one 9. The new gameplay trailer released for Dragon Ball Fusions can be seen below.
The trailer provides an overview of the battle and party systems for Dragon Ball Fusions. The battle system is turned based. The game even uses a timeline-like display with the character’s avatars, showing the order in which the player’s party and the enemy party can attack. The teams can also be built around certain stats such as: speed, power, and technique. Different characters will of course have their different strengths and the player can choose how to build around that. The trailer also showed off the game’s over world which the player can fly over and explore when not taking part in a battle.
Dragon Ball Fusions comes out in Japan August 4th for the Nintendo 3DS. A North American release has not been announced but considering the worldwide popularity of the Dragon Ball series, there is a possibility that that announcement could come sometime in the future.
