Publisher NIS America has revealed a launch trailer for RPG Maker WITH for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Crunchyroll reports that this release is slated for February 25, 2025.
RPG Maker WITH launched on Nintendo Switch back on October 11 of this year. According to Gematsu all versions of RPG Maker WITH will feature cross-platform support. One notable feature of RPG Maker WITH is its improved user accessibility over previous entries. Functions from RPG Maker MZ have been streamlined with online sharing, which will make it easier to borrow and share ideas with other players. Users can share their role-playing games and assets from their Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. Creators can use from a selection of premade assets to craft games or create their own assets for in-game use.
The trailer begins with a party leader claiming to make the most epic rpg anyone has ever seen. The online asset sharing feature is shown. The leader is shown designing an old rustic town, while another player is designated to handle 2D items, one player is shown to take account of the game’s npcs. The last player handles the enemies in battle including a blue slime. Create with friendly controls can be read across the screen. The party leader is seen starting to create. They begin with populating a couch that has a bear, a black robed character and a maid. The player duplicates the object multiple times. The player begins playing their game. They walk into town and battle a stone gargoyle as the trailer ends.
RPG Maker With will launch in the West 22 days after its Japanese release. Reception towards the Switch release has been mixed. Some complaints have centered around the Switch’s smaller screen. This may change with the release of the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game, time will tell.
