Square Enix revealed last year a sequel for the Octopath Traveler series. The turn-based RPG developed by Square Enix has the classic RPG element to it many people find familiar with. Set in a world where different characters have their own story to unfold. The game sold over 3 million copies worldwide last year, making it a big hit for the RPG community. With a successful game comes an outstanding soundtrack. Players have that one song in games they can’t help but search up to listen to again.

Square Enix revealed last year that there will be a standalone sequel. Octopath Traveler II will have a similar concept as the original. The sequel will feature 8 new characters to set out on this new journey the developers have for players to explore. While the game still has a while before it is released. As reported on Noisy Pixel and Nintendo Life, Square Enix treated their fans to samples from the soundtrack as well as pre-order the game’s complete original soundtrack. With 42 songs to preview, fans can listen to the world of Solistia.
Yasunori Nishiki, the composer for the first game returned to compose the soundtrack. The track list on the website has a series of songs ranging from the main theme to the character themes. The website lets fans know Yasunori wanted to compose the music to “bring color to the HD-2D world” of the game. For those who purchase the soundtrack, there will be a booklet included with details the dialogue between the composer, Yasunori Nishiki, the director Keisuke Miyauchi, and the producer Masashi Takahashi. It will detail the making of the soundtrack and details about the music production and the work that went into composing the soundtrack for this game. The soundtrack is available for pre-order and will be available March 1st, 2023. Octopath Traveler II is scheduled to be released February 24th, 2023 on all modern platforms.
