Zombie Post-Apocalyptic Game, Undawn, Coming Later This Year

The studio behind the popular online battle-royale multiplayer game, PUBG, is releasing a new co-op post-apocalyptic game titled Undawn. While the game is not going to be releasing anytime soon, some basic information about the gameplay and overall setting has been released.

In Undawn players will have to explore and survive a post-apocalyptic wasteland that has been overrun by zombies. They can either accomplish this solo or by banding together in co-op. There will be both Player vs Player (PvP) and Player vs Environment (PvE) gameplay. Besides constantly fighting zombies and other people, players will have to learn how to survive by finding resources and crafting supplies. And in order to obtain better weapons, players must scavenge for items and assemble them together. They can also trade for resources with other players and build shelters for better chances of survival. On the game’s website, they have so far announced four factions – the Owl Gang, Eagles, Reivers, and Clowns – as well as the characters who are in the Raven Squad. However, there is not much information about how these factions and characters will fit into and impact the base gameplay. The Executive Producer at Lightspeed & Quantum Studios at Tencent Games, Rick Li, has announced his team’s intention for the game.

With Undawn, we wanted to create a new type of action game that combines open-world freedom with RPG elements that would completely redefine the genre, regardless of platform.

Undawn is hopefully going to be released on iOS and Android devices as well as on PC later this year, yet the exact date is still to be determined. Hopefully, more information will be forthcoming in the coming months.
